Everyone Has A Story To Tell ...

and we want to hear yours!

THE THEME FOR THE MONTH IS “CAMPS AND SUMMER STORIES”.  Is camp one of the happiest memories of your childhood or was it miserable?  Did you cry the first time you sent your child away for a week or did you dance?  How about those family weekends at the lake?  Everyone has formative memories of the summer.  Now it's your turn to share them.

Storytelling has become an art form in which everyone can participate and everyone can share.  Once a month, Skokie Theatre holds its own storytelling competition based upon a “word of the month”.   Admission is $10 at the door only.

Ten volunteers from the audience will be given five minutes to tell their story based on the theme for the month.

Ten additional volunteers will be selected as our panel of judges.  Would you like to be one of them?  Come on in!

Whether you choose to share your story, join the panel of judges, or cheer them on from the audience, the Story Slam is a fun way to share experiences with your neighbors and your community.   Come pull up a chair and enjoy the original performing art ... the art of storytelling.

Upcoming events:  Thurs, July 19 - Family and other Horror Stories
