Three Hoosiers celebrating--if not the only--the TRUEST Indiana songwriter of all. You just might end up saying, 'Wow, i didnt know the man was THAT good.' Oh, but he was!
Laura Freeman and Jeff Dean, along with musical director Beckie Menzie, have teamed up to honor this unique man's talents. He was born in the right place at the right time, and was key in shaping how a song could be written, and they've been written that way ever since. Some say his stamp on jazz was more important than Gershwin's. He was a good lyricist too when he felt like being one, an iconic vocalist (though he's loathe to admit it), and an in-demand movie actor.
Yes, you'll hear Stardust and Georgia, but also overlooked gems like Billy-a-Dick, Hong Kong Blues, and a total rarity, Poor Old Joe.
