Charles Troy Presents
Wed, Aug 7 1:30 pm
Join Charles and his featured performers, Jeffery Lyle Segal and Allan Kaye, for perhaps his most powerful presentation. In August of 1936, George and Ira Gershwin arrived in Hollywood to write two Fred Astaire movie musicals, “Shall We Dance” and “A Damsel in Distress”, plus a third picture, “The Goldwyn Follies”. Little did they know it would be the last year of George’s life. This multimedia presentation will tell the whole shocking story of this fateful twelve months, interspersed and leavened with abundant video clips of the numbers from the two Fred Astaire classics.
Charles Troy, popular speaker and presenter, is an acclaimed musical theatre historian and graphic designer. He has created over 50 multi-media presentations and had presented his work to countless local and national audiences. His work has also been published in The Sondheim Review.
